TheUpperCode | How we created a website for the largest fundraising campaign during the war. | Ruby on Rails

At the beginning of the full-scale invasion, when the whole world was holding its breath, every aware Ukrainian felt a deep desire to contribute to Ukraine's victory. So did our team.

In addition to the daily donations to support our brave soldiers, medics, and war victims that have become a regular ritual, our team had a strong desire to make a difference with our expertise in web development. So, we started researching ways to implement our idea. Suddenly, the news about the largest gathering for bairaktars was announced all over the national media. The charity that launched the campaign was the Serhiy Prytula's Foundation. We were inspired by the achievements of its team even before we started working with them. But imagine our surprise when we saw that, despite being so active, they did not have a properly functioning website.

It was then that we realized we could help - not only financially, but also by applying our skills and experience. We decided to approach the Serhiy Prytula Foundation with a proposal: to create a modern, functional website that would serve as a convenient platform and tool to facilitate the fundraising process. It was our way of expressing gratitude for their tireless efforts to build a brighter future for Ukraine.

The Serhiy Prytula Foundation embraced our proposal and thus began a partnership that went far beyond business. Together, we set about creating a website that would not only tell the story of their noble mission and achievements but also streamline the process of collecting donations and engaging with supporters.

This partnership was not only about creating a website but also about building bridges of hope. It was about two organizations united by a common goal, pooling their resources and forming a bond that goes beyond the digital realm. The journey has been marked by challenges, late-night coding sessions, and countless cups of coffee, but it has also been filled with a deep sense of satisfaction and the knowledge that we are making a meaningful contribution to something big. And so it was, the fundraising broke all records and became a phenomenon of our time.

As we continue to work together, we are inspired by the unwavering commitment of the Prytula Foundation and the strength of the Ukrainian people. We believe that together we can build a brighter tomorrow.
